Prof Vera Ignjatovic

I am a researcher across the fields of paediatric haematology and proteomics. I hold leadership roles in the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis and the Human Proteome Organisation. I am the scientific lead on the Harmonising Pathology Parameters in Kids (HAPPI Kids) project which has established normative data for age-appropriate reference intervals in haematology, immunology, and biochemistry for the Royal Children’s Hospital, the Royal Women’s Hospital and other laboratories throughout Victoria.

You can’t be what you can’t see is a motto that guides my advocacy for diversity, inclusion and gender equality. I am a member of the advisory board for WiSPP committee, and a formal and informal mentor to students and staff at the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute. I am committed to encouraging the next generation of women medical researchers.
