I head the Infectious Diseases Serology Lab at the Victorian Infectious Diseases Reference Laboratory at the Doherty Institute. Serology is the detection of antibodies produced by the immune system in response to infection or vaccination. Different types of antibodies indicate recent infection, past infection and immunity.
Through WiSPP I hope to enlighten people about career options in science and highlight the importance of mentors who gave me confidence to become a laboratory head.
