Prof Alicia Oshlack
My research is in the area of bioinformatics. I use computational and statistical approaches to analyse genomic data to answer questions of medical and biological importance. I am best known for my methods for the analysis of transcriptome data that are widely used across the research community.
I am passionate about creating gender equality in science and have been associated with WiSPP since its inception. I believe that together we can address the complexities that perpetuate imbalances between genders. The cross-institutional composition of WiSPP enables broad insights into important issues but also at a scale that we can still influence. In addition, being part of the amazing group of WiSPP committee members is inspiring and rejuvenating on a personal level.
